- Suspected sockpuppets
Madurai article underwent a recent revamp/rewrite and since a sockmaster has been trying to reinsert his preferred pieces using different accounts and ips. For instance 117.199.136.124 , 117.199.129.168, 117.207.68.187 and gulamshafi do the similar edits. The ips all geolocate to the same city and are from the same isp. This 122. ip and gujmala try to restore previously cleaned up sections and remove maintenance templates.
Both accounts involved are throw away accounts who try to restore the remove the content and go away once reverted or warned. I believe these are throwaway socks of some long time user, who uses them give an appearance of support for his preferred version. By his relative familiarity with how wiki works (once warned of edit warring, he edits logged out, changes ips by using a dynamic isp etc) i am sure this is an experienced editor who has been doing this for a long time. Request a sleeper check to identify the master and any other socks in the drawer. Sodabottle (talk) 17:18, 1 July 2011 (UTC)

- The common link between all the accounts is that they started appearing after the major revamp/rewrite of the article started taking place. The article remained in the previous version for over two years, once the rewrite began, they started appearing. (the latest edit was today from 117.207.65.191 (talk · contribs · WHOIS). I believe the same experienced user is trying too different connections to hide his tracks and throw off any possible CU - that explains the time delay and different ISPs. He uses each isp to change back specific issues. He hasnt stopped his attempts till today. On 6 july he tried to change something using the gulamshafi id when reverted, he came back and tried again as an ip --Sodabottle (talk) 05:41, 9 July 2011 (UTC)

- Administrator note It's possible, I guess. All the IPs geolocate to the same area. Anyway I've protected the article in question for a week. Gujmala123 has gone quiet, so I'll leave this alone for now. Relist if more things happen. — HelloAnnyong (say whaaat?!) 02:57, 12 July 2011 (UTC)
