• keep There's nothing here to suggest that this is a recently erected monument, and the style of the lettering is characterisically late 1800s. Assuming in the absence of firm evidence that this is modern is too paranoid to be taken seriously. Mangoe (talk) 16:13, 8 May 2013 (UTC)
• Keep A grave is normally made shortly after the person in the grave died, and this person died in 1786. There is not really anything which would suggest that the grave would have been made after 1922 – presumably it was already there in the 18th century. The uploader wrote that "The momument has been cleaned up by the historical society" and maybe this is why you think that the monument looks recent. --Stefan2 (talk) 11:14, 9 May 2013 (UTC)

  • Are you sure? The file information page mentions a change of the copyright law of Indonesia. I have no idea how to check whether this information is correct. --Stefan2 (talk) 21:09, 6 May 2013 (UTC)
• Keep: There was a change, as patently stated on the file page and Wikipedia:Non-U.S. copyrights. See the law enacted in 2002: "that by taking into account the experiences in implementing the existing Copyright Law, it is necessary to enact a new Copyright Law to replace Law no. 6 of 1982 on Copyright as amended by Law no. 7 of 1987, and lastly by Law no. 12 of 1997;" and "Upon the effectiveness of this Law, Law no. 6 of 1982 regarding Copyright as amended by Law no. 7 of 1987 and lastly by Law no. 12 of 1997 shall be declared to no longer be valid." The 1982 law was still in effect until 2002, so it was obviously the one in effect when the URAA came into effect for Indonesia. — Crisco 1492 (talk) 22:25, 6 May 2013 (UTC)

• Taken from the web site - the photo's metadata shows a date of "2012/02/06-14:56:27" (maybe an edit date) Web page info shows 2007 - maybe the painting is PD, but I think one needs to use one's own camera to take the picture.  Ronhjones  ^(Talk) 19:48, 6 May 2013 (UTC)

• Comment wouldn't this be slavish reproduction via photography? And if it isn't PD, then it could be used on the artist's page as fairuse illustration of his work. -- 65.94.76.126 (talk) 00:57, 7 May 2013 (UTC)
  • I don't know whether this particular painting is in the public domain or not (it depends on the exhibition history and on whether the museums and art galleries allowed photography at that time), but even if this particular painting turns out to be copyrighted, then there are still presumably other paintings which were exhibited at a museum allowing photography without a copyright notice before 1978, meaning that this one violates.
