I hereby withdraw my 2010 candidacy for the arbitration committee. I decided to run because I saw a lack of candidates and felt that I could successfully carry out the role of arbitrator in the absence of more qualified individuals. Since then, a number of quality people with far more experience than I have stepped forward. In light of this, I am withdrawing my candidacy.

I hereby submit myself to the community as a candidate for the Arbitration Committee. Let me first say I am an editor, not an author. I make changes, I add sources. I fairly rarely create articles, though I have done so with two. I am far more likely to be reverting vandalism, helping out at articles for creation, or helping on the administrative noticeboards. It is my activities on the administrative noticeboards where I have learned Wikipedia policy and precedent. As a member of the Arbitration Committee, I will do my best to ensure the overall needs of the community are met, policy is complied with, and preventative measures are taken when needed to prevent disruption.
I am not the "typical" Arbitration Committee Candidate. I have been around for almost two years, but I have only edited in earnest since earlier in this year. I am not an administrator. I am not an author. I have always carried myself here in more of an administrative role than in an authorship role. As such, though I have no featured articles to my credit, I have prevented disruption to a good number of them through my counter-vandalism activities. I am no stranger to on-wiki controversy and debate; I have been involved in several content disputes. I discovered the best method for dealing with them is to explain my position, then listen. Offering a neutrally-worded compromise works a whole lot better than simply rejecting a POV edit. This is a lesson the community as a whole can benefit from.
Finally, my personal qualifications. I am a college-educated pilot and flight instructor. I am used to making decisions under immense stress as a result. I am open to all thoughts, concerns, and criticisms. I would like to thank the community in advance for their consideration.
I was asked to provide a note here regarding any previous accounts of mine. There are none. Maybe a mistaken logged-out IP edit every now and again.
