Removed clear copyright violation, kept quote; need to find more sources from more diverse and nationwide outlets. Portland Mercury is a local paper and what it provides is routine entertainment coverage. That said, I'd count it once. The NPR cite is golden (if one doesn't literally copy it into this article). But we need at least two more sources meeting WP:IRS to call this subject notable, in this reviewer's opinion.

I appreciate your contacting me on talk. I'm not saying this isn't a worthy effort, and I'm not saying the work you've done is insufficient. As a page reviewer I have some discretion, but also have a responsibility to ensure the page I reviewed meets standards "hallowed" by practice and consensus. In this overlong message I hope to give you some insight.

• First, I can't review your page by comparing it to other less worthy efforts. I didn't see those other band pages (I can only be so many places at one time). If those pages are not strongly sourced, they might find themselves deleted. My task is to review THIS page with a mind towards improvement and prevent ITS deletion.
• Second, I reviewed your page and found some text which was taken verbatim from the NPR source, though correctly cited. The quote from the same source is perfectly acceptable. I could have put the page up for speedy deletion because of the plagiarism. I felt this would be a disproportionate response. So I deleted the text and moved your cite. I wouldn't have touched your text if you had reworded it from the source text.
• Third, there's no deadline here on Wikipedia. Just because the page isn't published now doesn't mean it won't be published.
• Fourth and lastly, we SHOULD be discussing how to improve the page by additional sourcing. In the last few minutes, I found Inlander, OPB, Willamette Week, Noise and Color PDX, local PBS. I hope I have better acquainted you with the way a reviewer works. Folks like myself are here to ensure this is an encyclopedia, not a random listing of local bands. I believe the subject about which you've written is likely to be included in Wikipedia; if not I wouldn't be chatting with you. Add a couple of the sources linked above and make the page something to be proud of. Now I want to know more about this band.
