Very nicely done and very interesting subject. It's worthy of consideration for the "Did You Know?" section on the main page in my opinion. It just needs some minor spelling/syntax tweaks. I'll try and fix it later. Only logged on for a moment. Again, a fabulous and interesting new article! --PMDrive1061 (talk) 23:16, 2 July 2009 (UTC)

You posted a vandalism template on my talk page recently, pertaining to Dave Mustaine. I just wanted to tell you that I attempted to revert 69.122.179.48's edit at the same time you did, and inadvertently clicked the undo button on your edit, not 69.122's. Reversion of good-faith edits as "vandalism" , and incorrectly warning users damages Wikipedia by encouraging good-faith editors to leave (do you see 72.183.120.48 (talk · contribs) making any more contributions?). {{infobox | title = {{{buffet_name|{{PAGENAME}}}}} | image = {{#if: {{{image<includeonly>|</includeonly>}}}|]}} | caption = {{{image_caption<includeonly>|</includeonly>}}} | label2 = {{#if:{{{streetaddress|}}}|Address|Location}} | data2 = {{{streetaddress|<includeonly>{{{</includeonly>location<includeonly>|}}}</includeonly>}}} | label3 = Type | data3 = {{{type<includeonly>|</includeonly>}}} | label3 = Meals | data3 = {{{meals<includeonly>|</includeonly>}}} | label4 = Number of items | data4 = {{{items<includeonly>|</includeonly>}}} | label5 = Seating capacity | data5 = {{{capacity<includeonly>|</includeonly>}}} }}<noinclude>{{documentation}}<!-- PLEASE ADD CATEGORIES AND INTERWIKIS TO THE /doc SUBPAGE, THANKS --></noinclude>

Sorry for this late response (15 hour place rides are not fun =/ ). Since you'll be volunteering as either an investigator or a contactor (or both) at abuse reports, you don't do the actual reporting of an IP address. The New Alerts section is where all the new reports are listed. Reports are created by regular users that find an IP address that fits the criteria set. Abuse Reports then sees if the IP actually meets the guidelines and processes it accordingly.
Process:
Remember to move the wikilink to the corresponding section when you investigate and contact. =D
I know the moving can get complicated, so I'll try to automate the process by using a bot to do the moving. It would be easier to explain some things involved if we were in direct communication, would that be possible? I'm thinking of Wikipedia's IRC, AIM, or any other instant messaging service. Thanks. Just to let you know, I believe you 121.5%. Which is good. And I'm sure most other editors would believe you. I only thought it a reform after seeing one of your Barnstar, which metioned your history.
So, basically, you want the hacker's bad sockpuppets under one category, and your good ones under another? I would do this myself, it would be a pretty simple task, but I don't think I'm allowed. Concensus (is that the right word?) would have to be reached. Remember, I'm pretty inexperienced. I would go to an admin or something, see what s/he can do. There may be some sort of discussion/debate about it, it could get quite serious. I'm not going to do any of this myself, because, considering you've only told me and someone else, I don't think you'd want me to, as a lot of people might find out. But if you really want this changed, well, go to somebody who is a bit more experienced. I'll back you up voraciously if the need be. Sorry for not being much of a help. But I'm sure you can get this fixed somehow.
P.S. - If you want to remove that comment from my talk page so nobody else sees it, go ahead. I don't mind.

Hi there, it's great that you'd like to (and have) help(ed) with creating barnstars :). I personally always use Wikipedia images which are realised under a free-license (e.g. Public Domain), because this makes the licensing much easier. You should also use File:Large Barnstar.png, for your base.
Unfortunately, there is no software created specifically for barnstars (not that I know of anyhow), but there are plenty of tools which do a fine job. I, for example, use Corel PHOTO-PAINT 7 (which is not free unfortunately),I think a lot of users use Adobe Photoshop (again this is not free). If you are looking for a powerful free photo paint download, then your best bet is probably a google search. I hear Paint.NET is very good, and would definitely recommend you try it.
So yeah, basically, just download a powerful paint program (I'm sure there are some free ones around), and then play around with it. I find transparency a very useful tool, if you want to blend the barnstar into something else (for example, with this barnstar, I used transparency to blend the flag of the United Kingdom and the barnstar together). If you need other help, or would like me to expand on something, just ask :) - Kingpin13 (talk) 10:23, 4 August 2009 (UTC)
Yet another great barnstar. BTW, if you use PNG you should be able to get transparent backgrounds (in Paint.NET the transparent bits will be checkered). I think this means doing everything on a second layer, rather than drawing on the background, although I'm not sure about that, as I haven't actually used Paint.NET myself. Anyway, really nice, love the red and blue squiggly lines =D. Another BTW; I fixed some stuff on the barnstar template (the other one) here, when you create barnstar templates in the future, please ensure they are done like this. If you don't understand those changes, then ask. Although I won't be able to reply for about an hour, as I've gotta dash now. Keep up your work :) - Kingpin13 (talk) 18:04, 4 August 2009 (UTC)

...you need to know this. If you are not prepared you (and me) will become a laughing stock. The RIUWSDHFSROT2½DP runs every 2 and a half days, so you have to add the halfs up. I've listed the first few days on the project page. You may want to create some redirect shortcuts to get to the page faster. And don't use the template for the award, just use the whole code. Otherwise you can't give specific reasons why they got it to each user. I think that's all. Oh, no its not. Add "on behalf of SchnitzelMannGreek" to the award somewhere if you like. If you feel like it, you can add e better image the award, it's not very good. Now I am going to apologise, because I feel bad for some reason. And thanks! I owe you. In case you still want to know what it means, it translates roughly to something like "You're a real head, mate." It's a slightly odd phrase, but whoever said it could have meant something like "you're a genius" and could have been genuinely appreciative or ironic. Perhaps you can figure it out from the context? Sorry this reply is so late - I've not checked Wikipedia for the past couple of weeks. I hope it helps. --Arvind (talk) 18:36, 14 August 2009 (UTC)
Thank you for that award SchnitzelMannGreek, and SpongeFrog :D. - Kingpin13 (talk) 12:22, 17 August 2009 (UTC)
I stole that heading from Scribbls. Tyhankyou for stuff etc. I tried to say this while editing from a PSP via a McDonalds internet connection, but it was too diffivcult. I don't sound very enthusiastic in my gratitude, but I am. I have not typed for 10 days give or take,so forgive me if there'r (yes "r". It's short for "there are", not "there is") spelling mjstakes. Spongefrog, (I am a flesh-eating robot) 15:46, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
In this edit to My Name Is Khan, you removed quite a bit of material that an IP editor had added. It is true that the IP editor did not add sources; I'm guessing that they didn't know about the requirement. You deleted their material without comment, yet it took me all of 30 seconds to find sources for the material they added.
Why destroy newbies' imperfect work, when unstead, you can try to improve their imperfect contributions with sources? This sort of situation is a good teaching opportunity. You can even use the templates at WP:UTM, which are prewritten and explain msome of the basics.
Rather than alienate newcomers by removing their work, helping them will encourage them to contribute to Wikipedia, which is a better outcome for the project as a whole. Whatever404 (talk) 16:30, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
When it comes to Bambifan101, he's easy to spot per WP:LTA/BF101. If he edits as an anon, he does so primarily via Bell South. That Canadian IP is similar, but unrelated. He's more of a "pot stirrer" when it comes to the same articles. Bambifan has been quiet as of late, but when he gets a burr in his saddle, he's just nuts. Good luck and feel free to let me know if you suspect that he's back. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 00:01, 20 August 2009 (UTC)

Thank you for uploading File:Syriac House.JPG. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. B (talk) 14:00, 25 August 2009 (UTC)

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Hey, SMG, please accept my apologies for the warning I issued you a moment ago. Needless to say, your impersonator fooled me by using your signature. Again, please accept my apologies. Javert (talk) 17:48, 29 August 2009 (UTC)
Hi there again SchnitzelMannGreek. If I were you, I wouldn't worry about it too much, treat it as you would treat a vandal, for example, I have had (and you will likely have had too, if you do RCP) death threats, insults etc. Left by vandals. What do you do? revert, warn, and report to AIV (or AN/I) if it's persistent. I wouldn't worry about it on-wiki, deal with tit the same way NawlinWiki has dealt with the nonsense he is getting; revert, block, ignore. Bear in mind that this could very likely be a user who is trying to "get at" me; scroll down my current user talk, and you can see your username comes up the most. So my advice really is to ignore it, there's no need to find out who is responsible IMO, definitely since it's only happened once. The thing that surprises me is that this username wasn't picked up as being too similar to an existing one. - Kingpin13 (talk) 19:20, 29 August 2009 (UTC)
Good point. Thanks and sorry I didn't get back to you guys earlier;)I'll see what I might do when I have more time...maybe I'll consult J.Dealony or just ignore the vandal.;Happy Editing;)SchnitzelMannGreek. 20:01, 29 August 2009 (UTC)
It's that time again to update membership status with the Nintendo task force, which we try to do every 3-4 months to keep our membership up-to-date.
All participants have been placed on an "Inactive participants" list. To confirm that you're still a member of the Nintendo task force, simply go to Wikipedia:WikiProject Video games/Nintendo#Members and move your name from the "Inactive participants" list to the bottom of the "Active participants" list. If you are no longer an active member in the task force, you may simply remove your name altogether. After 1 month, on October 1, all entries under the "Inactive participants" list will be removed. Hopefully you can stay with us and continue to work on Nintendo-related articles. Regards, MuZemike 17:57, 1 September 2009 (UTC)

I restored the image as per your request, please remember to edit the description page to include a spesific "copyright tag" template (the image already state that you created it, but not what license it's available under). Thanks. --Sherool (talk) 21:23, 3 September 2009 (UTC)

Hi Schnitzel, I've noticed that you are the main editor of the abovementioned article. I regret that I had to find the entry highly advertising and thus not meeting Wikipedia standards. Additionally, it is not clear whether this product has any stand-alone characteristics that would make it notable at all. Therefore, I proposed it to be deleted. See ] for the discussion. Hi, I'd like to invite you to participate in the Guild of Copy Editors July 2010 Backlog Elimination Drive. In May, about 30 editors helped remove the {{copyedit}} tag from 1175 articles. The backlog is still over 7500 articles, and extends back to the beginning of 2008! We really need your help to reduce it. Copyediting just a couple articles can qualify you for a barnstar. Serious copyeditors can win prestigious and exclusive rewards. See the event page for more information. And thanks for your consideration. monosock 18:06, 12 June 2010 (UTC)
Why am I getting this message? Mono's delivery method is random, so you probably showed up somewhere Mono went. :)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:09, 7 November 2016 (UTC)
You are invited to participate in the 50,000 Challenge, aiming for 50,000 article improvements and creations for articles relating to the United States. This effort began on November 1, 2016 and to reach our goal, we will need editors like you to participate, expand, and create. See more here! |

US Banknote Contest | ||
---|---|---|
November-December 2019 | ||
There are an estimated 30,000 different varieties of United States banknotes, yet only a fraction of these are represented on Wikimedia Commons in the form of 2D scans. Additionally, Colonial America, the Confederate States, the Republic of Texas, multiple states and territories, communities, and private companies have issued banknotes that are in the public domain today but are absent from Commons. In the months of November and December, WikiProject Numismatics will be running a cross-wiki upload-a-thon, the 2019 US Banknote Contest. The goal of the contest is to increase the number of US banknote images available to content creators on all Wikimedia projects. Participants will claim points for uploading and importing 2D scans of US banknotes, and at the end of the contest all will receive awards. Whether you want to claim the Gold Wiki or you just want to have fun, all are invited to participate. If you do not want to receive invitations to future US Banknote Contests, follow the instructions here |
