Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Halloween cake, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Icing. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Heya as the closing admin on today's Brenda Allison I was hoping you could help. The author keeps re-creating the article despite warnings, with the same content (including the speedy tag!). Can we salt this article, and/or block her account? Every submission she's made has been reverted, which isn't necessarily a vand-only account (which is why I didn't simply submit a report to AIV), but it's disruptive. Cheers! - superβεεcat 22:40, 2 February 2016 (UTC)

Hello, Northamerica1000 -- I don't know about "corned" with salmon, but your version sounds better anyway. However, I've got to ask you whether you really meant to leave the sentence this way:
"With salmon blended and potato"? Wouldn't this make more sense if it said "salmon blended with potato"? If so, then, to avoid two "with's", perhaps change the first one to "from" or "of":
If not, then I don't know what kind of dish this is. Corinne (talk) 02:42, 10 February 2016 (UTC)

Hi Northamerica1000! Thank you very much that in January 22 you relisted the AfD article that I am working on. I am new here and this is a 6 years old article that was not properly sourced, however, I found more than 40 secondary sources that I have now built in. My problem is that almost no one controls what I am doing, and I should like kindly ask you, that if your time allows, just take a glance to the article and tell me your advices. https://en.wikipedia.orghttps://wikifreehand.com/en/Zolt%C3%A1n_Deme and https://en.wikipedia.orghttps://wikifreehand.com/en/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Zolt%C3%A1n_Deme My other problem is that this tag "Find sources: "Zoltán Deme" – news · newspapers · books · scholar · JSTOR · free images" proved to be useless for reaching the sources of the 1960-1980 decades, especially the sources of the past communist countries in East Europe where most of the libraries very poorly digitized. For example "Scholar" gives 1 citation, though just with 10 minutes research I got immediately 20 citations! ] page 65 ] p.2 ] p.23 ] p.1 ] p.289 ] p.5 ] p.2 ] p.353 ] p.35 ] p.1 ] p.46 ] p.75 ] p.63 ] p.84 ] p.64 ] p.1 ] p.48 ] p.317 ] p.196 ] p.101. (Plus I got many items, as "required reading" in the universities, like ] p.1 ] p.1 ] p.48 ] and so on). For other example, Books, Google Books gives 3 items, while this site (and others) show the pictures and data of more than 20 items! ] ] ] This misleads almost everyone, presents the subject non-notable with only one citation and three books, thus, I had to go over this problem and collect printed material. Would you kindly investigate the improved article, is my work now sufficient? I saw your contributions, so any proposal or any suggestion would be highly appreciated! Thanks for reading this message, sincerely yours, Norbert. 89.133.187.29 (talk) 20:57, 11 February 2016 (UTC)

Hi NA1K. Since you're a portal wizard I thought I would run this by you. Can you explain to me how the portal template calls up the thumbnail image on an article page that is associated with the portal?
If a portal comes up red then I know I typed it in wrong, and if the image comes up as a puzzle piece I know I have hit an alias for the portal.
Why don't aliases display the germane portal thumbnail instead of the puzzle piece?
What got me off my duff today is that the {{Portal:Molecular and cellular biology}}
(now a redirect) was moved to {{Portal:Molecular and cell biology}}
but the new version shows the puzzle piece while the old version shows the germane thumbnail.
So two things:
Right now on Molecule the redirected version is in use so the germane icon shows up instead of the puzzle piece that would show up if the DAB version of the cell portal was implemented. BTW, do you use wikEd as your Wikipedia text editor to edit Wikipedia (and its taqalong pal wikEdDiff to view Diffs)? Right after I edited Molecule a vandal came along and blanked much of the page, but MaterialScientist pounced on it and reverted the vandalism. Cheers! {{u|Checkingfax}} {Talk}

07:29, 23 February 2016 (UTC)This month:
Development of the extension for setting up WikiProjects, as described in the last issue of this newsletter, is currently underway. No terribly exciting news on this front.
In the meantime, we are working on a prototype for a new service we hope to announce soon. The problem: there are requests scattered all across Wikipedia, including requests for new articles and requests for improvements to existing articles. We Wikipedians are very good at coming up with lists of things to do. But once we write these lists, where do they end up? How can we make them useful for all editors—even those who do not browse the missing articles lists, or the particular WikiProjects that have lists?
Introducing Wikipedia Requests, a new tool to centralize the various lists of requests around Wikipedia. Requests will be tagged by category and WikiProject, making it easier to find requests based on what your interests are. Accompanying this service will be a bot that will let you generate reports from this database on any wiki page, including WikiProjects. This means that once a request is filed centrally, it can syndicated all throughout Wikipedia, and once it is fulfilled, it will be marked as "complete" throughout Wikipedia. The idea for this service came about when I saw that it was easy to put together to-do lists based on database queries, but it was harder to do this for human-generated requests when those requests are scattered throughout the wiki, siloed throughout several pages. This should especially be useful for WikiProjects that have overlapping interests.
The newsletter this month is fairly brief; not a lot of news, just checking in to say that we are hard at work and hope to have more for you soon.
Until next time,
Harej (talk) 01:43, 24 February 2016 (UTC)
