The result was to delete the image.

Image deleted - the fact that no better free image exists does not mean that once can not be created. Is inherantly replacable. Spartaz Humbug! 21:09, 23 August 2007 (UTC)

It is disputed whether or not this image violates our non-free content criteria.

The reason given is: This is a low quality screenshot which can't be replaced. The photo is low resolution and doesn't harm the creator in anyway.

Fair use rationale for Adie Smith

This image, Smith,_Adie.jpg (cropped from a screen capture made by Jonesy702 (talk contribs)), is being linked here; though the picture is copyright © to the BBC, I Jonesy702 (talkcontribs) feel it is covered by the U.S. fair use law because:

  1. The image is a low-resolution copy of a television screen capture;
  2. The image is being used for informational purposes about Adie Smith, from the television programme Match of the Day;
  3. No more free alternative exists;
  4. The use of the image in these articles will have no effect on the BBC's commercial use of the image in question.
The above discussion is preserved as an archive of the debate. Please do not modify it.
