You'll have to change the diagram again considering developments this week (Jan 2008). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 198.133.214.11 (talk) 21:27, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
This picture is for 2007. Warner Bros and New Line supported both formats in 2007. There needs to be a new image for 2008 that shows studio support for this year. Image:HDDiscStudioSupport2008.svg? Zojj (talk) 23:10, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
- You're confusing two entirely separate things here. This image has the studios PROPORTIONED per their 2007 box office results (how much money they made on ticket sales in 2007). They are colored PER THEIR FORMAT SUPPORT (which is dynamic at this point, and is subject to change, most notably with Warner and New Line announcing their support for Blu-ray, effective immediately). There really doesn't need to be two images for something this simple.. —Locke Cole • t • c 23:19, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
Ok cool, then lets change the summary to explain that. Zojj (talk) 01:45, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
- Someone had already made it :P Image:HighDefShare_2008-06-01.svg Zojj (talk) 02:13, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
Someone has repeatedly reverted this image back to the version showing Warner as "Both", on the justification that Warner is still releasing HD-DVD's until the end of May. This doesn't make sense to me, the image is included under the heading "Studio Support". Clearly, according to this article , Warner is merely honoring their previous commitments, but is no longer "supporting" HD-DVD. The image should be changed to reflect Warner as "Blu-Ray" only. - As mentioned above there is a separate image for that purpose. Please see Talk:Comparison_of_high_definition_optical_disc_formats#Pie_chart_poll for further discussion. --Ray andrew (talk) 03:13, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
I created the original version of this image for use in a single article: Comparison of high definition optical disc formats. Discussion of its use and suitability therefore belongs on Talk:Comparison of high definition optical disc formats. Editors are of course free to use the image in other articles if they wish - the GFDL guarantees that - but if they want something different then please create a separate image rather than fighting over this one.--Harumphy (talk) 23:35, 9 January 2008 (UTC)
