Correctness

I think Algeria should not be included since this was only a colony of France and not an integral part, right? Plus maybe for better viewing, the countries should be faded in upon their ascension to the Union instead of them just popping up. Can anybody do this (I'm not an expert with creating these animations). 00:36, 9 Mai 2009 (UTC)

Algeria was not a mere colony, it was part of France proper.theBOBbobato (talk) 20:07, 4 October 2009 (UTC)

It may sound a bit picky, but the Isle of Man should remain grey all the way to present. It did not join the EEC/EU with the United Kingdom. athinaios 22:39, 9 November 2007 (UTC)

Another thing regarding correctness, is that it depicts only the unoccupied Cypriot territories to be part of the EU, whereas it is clearly stated from the Union, that it is the whole island that is considered a member. The Turkish-Occupied north, is considered "Territory not under the control of the official government, but still part of the EU" There aren't any borders recognised there, by any state/entity/organisation, save for Turkey. These borders aren't recognised from the EU either. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.207.157.226 (talk) 15:03, 22 November 2011 (UTC)

New country! Kosovo! time to revise the map again! 204.52.215.107 (talk) 23:39, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

Agree. What shal we do with Kosovo? --Dima1 (talk) 20:33, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
'New countries' aren't 'synchronised' on this map until the next accession (e.g. Slovakia and the Czech Republic). I.e. Kosovo will appear when Croatia and/or Iceland acceede. - SSJ  22:29, 15 December 2008 (UTC)

Greenland

This map is wrong as it does not show Greenland's EU joining in 1973 and leaving in 1985. --Dima1 (talk) 18:43, 6 November 2009 (UTC)

Correctness - Kosovo

Two ways the map is incorrect: (1) the "final" map does not reflect the European Union's view of Europe's political geography. Why? Because the European Union has never agreed that Kosovo is a separate country to Serbia. The map ignores this showing Kosovo in exactly the same way as each other non-member state. . In case any one thinks I am being pernickity, just check out the official map of the of the European Uhion here from the Europa website. Kosovo is shown on the map as part of Serbia. I do not wish to get bogged down in the politics or nuances of all of this. The simple fact is that the EU's own official map appears not to show Kosovo separately. It is also notable that Kosovo is always referred to in official EU documents as under the relevant UNSCR (under which it is under UN interim administration). (2) the "final" map, as I understand it, is intended to reflect the map as at the date of the most recent enlargement - that was in 2007 (i.e. before Kosovo even unilaterally declared independence). I am not saying that it would be correct to include Kosovo at this point even if it had decleared independence before 2007 (see point 1 above) but here it is plain wrong as no one regarded Kosovo as a country separate to Serbia in 2007 (not even the Kosovo Albanians themseleves, as they had not made their UDI at that point). 86.45.54.230 (talk) 00:35, 9 February 2012 (UTC)

Add Croatia

As of today, Croatia is a new member; thus, there should be an additional section for 2013, indicating its inclusion in the map. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.75.82.202 (talk) 00:47, 1 July 2013 (UTC)
